Professional Associations


AusPATH. The Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH) is the Australian national peak body representing, supporting, and connecting those working to strengthen the health, rights, and wellbeing of all trans and gender diverse people. AusPATH produces national treatment guidelines and hosts bi-annual conferences and various other networking and learning opportunities.


WPATH. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) is an interdisciplinary professional and educational organization devoted to transgender health. WPATH produce international treatment guidelines and host a bi-annual conference and various other networking and learning opportunities.


TPATH. The Transgender Professional Association for Transgender Health (TPATH) is an international organisation by and for trans and gender diverse professionals working in trans health. Membership is free.

Other Professional Networks


LGBTIQ+ Health Australia. LGBTIQ+ Health Australia is the National peak health organisation in Australia for organisations and individuals that provide health-related programs, services, and research focused on LGBTIQ+ people and communities. LGBTIQ+ Health Australia run the Health In Difference Conference.


RACGP Special Interest Group. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners has a trans healthcare special interest group.


APS Special Interest Group. The Australian Psychological Society have a Diverse Bodies, Genders, and Sexualities Members Interest Group.


IASP Special Interest Group. The International Association for Suicide Prevention has a LGBTQIA+ Special Interest Group.


Canberra Trans Care Network. A group of healthcare professionals in the ACT who have a commitment to the quality care of trans and gender diverse people.

Free Training Resources


TransHub: Information for Clinicians. Information for clinicians produced by trans Australians, including about mental health, sexual health, and creating a welcoming environment. By TransHub.


LGBTIQ+ Health Australia Webinars and Resources. Extensive array of webinars, factsheets, and other resources, on a range of topics including eating disorders, aged care, and mental health, by LGBTIQ+ Health Australia.


Primary Care e-Learning. E-module for general practitioners, practice nurses and medical students to become familiar with and sensitive to the diverse terminology, experiences, health issues, standards, and referral pathways for trans and gender diverse people, by University of Melbourne & North West Melbourne Primary Health Network.


Mental Health Care e-Learning. E-module for mental health professionals to become familiar with and sensitive to the diverse terminology, experiences, issues, standards, and referral pathways with respect to trans and gender diverse people, by University of Melbourne & North West Melbourne Primary Health Network.


Trans & Gender Diverse Sexual Health Care e-Learning. Five online modules codesigned for clinicians working in a sexual health clinical setting or delivering sexual health care in primary health care settings, by ASHM & ACON.


Advanced gender affirming hormone therapy e-Learning. Training that includes six case studies codesigned with community for eligible prescribers of gender affirming hormone therapy, by ASHM & ACON.


Advanced gender affirming hormone therapy live facilitated training. Live facilitated two-part course provides clinicians the knowledge and confidence to prescribe gender affirming hormone therapy, by ASHM & ACON.


Working with LGBTIQ+ Forcibly Displaced People e-Learning. Online training module designed to increase the capacity of various community services in providing affirming, safe and inclusive support for LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced people. It has been co-designed with LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced people, by the Forcibly Displaced People Network.


Trans and gender diverse young people factsheets and modules. Resources to build the knowledge and skills of youth mental health professionals to work inclusively and affirmatively with trans and gender diverse young people and their families, by Orygen.


Trans & gender diverse in community health training project (VIC). Victorian state-wide training program delivered by trans health professionals, and includes affirmative practice modules, GP-specific in-depth training courses, a ProjectECHO community of practice, and practical observerships in a trans-specific primary care clinic, led by Thorne Harbour Health.


Project ECHO (QLD). Hosted by Children’s Hospital Queensland, this monthly program is for Queensland GPs, non-GP specialists, and Nurse Practitioners to discuss care for trans and gender questioning patients, using the Project ECHO model.


Suicide Prevention in LGBTA+ young people: Best practice guidelines for clinical and community service providers. Guidelines for anyone working in a role where they support the mental health of young people, by Telethon Kids Institute.


Supporting Autistic LGBTIQA+ Young People. Video and written resources for service providers working with autistic LGBTIQA+ young people, by I Can Network.


See, Hear, Believe. E-learning resource for frontline workers to improve knowledge and skills to better support LGBTQ+ people experiencing domestic and family violence, by LGBTQ Domestive Violence Awareness Foundation.


AOD LGBTIQ Inclusive Guidelines for Treatment Providers. A free checklist resource for drug and alcohol service providers to be more trans-inclusive, developed by ACON, NADA, and Central and Eastern Sydney PHN.

ACON Training Webinars. Customised webinars on trans-affirming practice for healthcare and other workplace settings, by Pride Training (ACON).


Pride in Health & Wellbeing. National membership program that provides personalised support to organisations within the health, wellbeing, and human services sector to improve the LGBTQ inclusion, by ACON.


Rainbow Health Australia. Training, resources, policy advice and service accreditation through the Rainbow Tick.


Speech Pathology with Trans and Gender Diverse People. A short course for speech pathologists to provide gender affirming voice and communication training for trans and gender diverse people, by La Trobe University.


A Gender Agenda Training (ACT). In-service development workshops on trans, gender diverse and intersex people in the ACT, by A Gender Agenda.


Transgender Victoria Training (VIC). Customized workplace training and a specifically designed training and consultancy program to help hospitals, service providers, and aged care services, provide safe and inclusive care.


Zoe Belle Gender Collective Training (VIC). Presentations, training and workshops across the health and human services sectors in Victoria.


Trans Folk of WA Training (WA). Presentations,   panels, training and consultation in WA.


Shine SA Training and Webinars (SA). Training and webinars for doctors, nurses, and community sector workers in SA.


Working It Out (TAS). LGBTIQA+ cultural awareness and inclusivity training developed specifically for Tasmania and its unique context.


Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council. Training that explores the intersections between race, culture, religion, and LGBTQA+ identities.


Support for Trans and Gender Diverse People with Eating Disorders. Online training module and 1-hour online group supervision, suitable for GPs and a range of mental health professionals.


Advanced Frameworks in Trans Affirming Therapy. Online course for mental health professionals wanting to deepen their expertise in trans-affirming care, by Trans Wellbeing.
